Meet the Mediator
Meet the Mediator of Taylor-Made Solutions, PLLC
I became an attorney in 1988, earning my law degree from the University of Michigan. In 1999, I experienced my own divorce and the emotional turmoil it created for my children and for myself. That year, I took the training to become a civil mediator in Michigan but mediated only a few cases, because I became more heavily involved in litigation.
Although successful, I did not feel fulfilled, because litigating is really "lose-lose" for everyone. I decided to make a change and trained to become a divorce mediator, leaving a successful Michigan litigation firm to pursue mediation full time.
Mediation has fulfilled all expectations for me and my clients. Instead of finding ways to weaken the other side, which was my job as a litigator, now I empower both sides so they can resolve disputes and move forward with their lives.
Regarding my education, I received my bachelor's degree and law degree from the University of Michigan. I trained as a mediator in Michigan through the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) and the Oakland Mediation Center and completed ICLE's Family Law Certificate program. I also trained as a Collaborative Law attorney and provide a peaceful divorce using that process as well as mediation!
I act as a training coach for the Oakland Mediation Center's mediator training program and provide volunteer mediation services there as well. I am also Secretary of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Michigan and I was the recipient of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section George Bashara Award for exemplary service and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section Hero of ADR Award.
I hope to have the opportunity to work with you. If you would like further information, please call or e-mail me.
